San Carlos de Bariloche
In Rio Negro Province in the heart of Patagonia, Arelauquen Lodge sits at the base of Mount Otto on the shores of the picturesque Lake Gutierrez. This alpine gem is 26 kilometers from San Carlos de Bariloche International Airport (BRC).
Founded in 1902, the town of Bariloche is known as Argentina’s chocolate capital. It is set in a national park of the same name and extends along the shore of Lago Nahuel Huapi. In the winter (June to August), snow-covered mountains attract adventuresome skiers and snowboarders. In the summer, the area is a haven for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, paragliding, zip-lining, and more.
Only 16 kilometers from our lodge is Cerro Catedral, a prestigious ski resort with more than 600 hectares of terrain. An authentic ski village comprises rental facilities, shops, restaurants, and bars. Guests can also opt to visit La Hoya Ski Resort in Esquel, which is 190 kilometers south of San Carlos de Bariloche.
